Lilly Kai is a new, up and coming, young Thai designer. She is our in-house designer and we’re extremely proud and happy to have her working with us. The skirts and dresses that she designs for us can only be purchased at My Thailand Treasures. All of our Lilly Kai Apparel is handmade. They're not made in the factories of Bangkok. Lilly Kai oversees the entire process from start to finish. Take our Lilly Kai Silk Wrap Skirts and Silk Dress’ for example. I found the Material in a small Village in Northeastern Thailand, where it was hand-woven on a loom by the ladies of the village. The material is Chinese Silk, which is a smoother and shinier silk. It is also said to be a little stronger than Thai Silk. This is because of the way that the material weaves together. I called Lilly and told her that I found this material, she told me to get it, and she took it from there. Lilly had the material hand dyed into many beautiful colors. She then took the material designed the skirts and dress’, and had our in house seamstress finish making them. Lilly designs skirts and dresses that can be worn for many different occasions from casual to formal. She also designs them to fit many sizes. When you purchase a Lilly Kai designed dress or skirt you can be sure that there is a story behind each and every one. They’re not something that you can purchase at the local Mall.
